INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (Permanent Part-Time)

The
Squamish-Lillooet Regional District
(SLRD) is located in southwestern BC and consists of 4 member municipalities (Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, Lillooet) and 4 electoral areas. The region contains some of the most spectacular forests, waterways and mountains in the province and affords an endless range of opportunities for outdoor adventure. Headquartered in Pemberton, which is the approximate geographic centre of the region, the SLRD delivers a wide range of regional, sub-regional and local services to its residents. Services include land use planning, solid waste management, building inspection, fire protection, emergency preparedness, 911 services, recreation, water and sewer utilities, trails and open spaces as well as financial support for various community services. The SLRD is seeking to fill the newly created permanent, part-time position for 3 days a week (average 24 hours /week) of Information Technology (IT) Specialist. This position reports to the Director of Finance. The purpose of this position will be to assist in the overall operation of the SLRD's information technology requirements, including technical and analytical work in supporting, troubleshooting and maintaining the SLRD's local area network. Other responsibilities include IT security, backup and disaster recovery, telecommunications, and development and delivery of technology solutions for the SLRD. This position also responds to IT support requests from SLRD Board and staff.

Compensation will be determined commensurate with knowledge, skills and ability and includes a comprehensive benefit package with the SLRD.
Offices for the SLRD and the VOP are situated within walking distance of each other. An application remitted for both positions will total 40 hours per week with the opportunity for benefits (SLRD) and flexibility.
The SLRD and VOP will work together to ensure a flexible schedule is available if an applicant is successful in procuring both positions.
